With school schedules in full swing and busy evenings abounding, Bible study time at our home is a nice chance to slow down and enjoy each other's company. This week we decided to mix things up a bit by adding some fun games to our time together. Our children have enjoyed learning and playing games Shawn and I used to play when we were young, like Hot Potato, Mother-May-I, and Duck-Duck-Goose. It has been fun teaching our children these timeless games and enjoyable to see that even the simplest activities bring smiles to all of our faces. For our study this week, Colossians 1:21-22 brought with it a few new words to add to the kids' vocabulary! Highlighting important, biblical words like reconciled and holy provided for in-depth conversations about what Christ has done for us through His death on the cross. Other words and phrases like alienated and engaged in evil deeds allowed for us to be reminded of the state we as humans are in before we come to a saving knowledge of our LORD and Savior, Jesus Christ. It's great news to know that once we choose Jesus to be our Savior, He no longer sees us in our sin, but He sees us as we are: forgiven. |
