It's true, sometimes eating out is our only option! With our busy schedules, who has time to cook three meals a day, every day? Plus, sometimes it's just fun to go out to eat! However, when you are trying to eat healthy, finding restaurants that adhere to our ideas of "healthy eating" can seem close to impossible. With this post, I want to encourage you that though it's hard and sometimes more expensive to make smart, healthy choices when eating out, it is possible! It's been over a month now since me and my family have been trying to be more conscious about eating healthy. Since then, I have been on a hunt for restaurants around Seoul that offer healthier choices. I will highlight a few of my favorite finds here for my Seoul friends! I am convinced that wherever we live, there are healthier alternatives out there, we just have to be proactive in looking for these places!
Yum, Yum! I love to try food from all over the world! Living in Seoul gives me plenty of opportunities to do just that! This lunch plate special from Hummus Kitchen in Itaewon is a sampler of tasty cuisine from the Middle East. The falafel and hummus are two of my favorite foods on the plate. I personally consider this meal a healthy and fairly priced meal when eating out in Seoul!
While looking for a place to grab a quick, healthy lunch after visiting the dentist :(, I stumbled upon a little cafe named Bim Bom in Hannam-dong that features healthy cooking ingredients. The use of organic eggs and the service of organic coffee caught my eye very quickly! Even though this small cafe is a little pricey, it's definitely a restaurant I want to support for its seemingly high quality ingredients. I am not the only one who wants to indulge in this find as I found out while visiting. Many locals were eager to eat here as some had to put there name on the waiting list for a seat. If you have to wait, it's definitely worth it as I found out on my visit! Check out the slideshow below to see pictures of the great food I ordered! And I am not the only one blogging about this place! Check out another blogger's site by clicking on the button below for more information:
Every one loves dessert, right? Well, as I found out in an ice-cream store in Itaewon, healthier desserts do exist! My friend Kelley and I had a great time tasting organic ice-cream at SofTree. Those who served us said the ice cream is sugar-free milk cream, and the cones are made from honey comb! Yum! Definitely worth the visit if you are craving a dessert! I even had to bring my children and husband back for a taste! They loved it!
Well, I hope you are able to go out and try these places for yourself, that is, if you live in Seoul or have a chance to visit this great city!!! Wherever we live, keeping our eyes peeled for healthy choices when eating out is important and possible!
